  • I re-joined 343 in 2022 as a Creative Director to help lead video for the Franchise Media Team.

My role has been to simplify the communication/planning process while increasing video quality and output. I’m currently leading editorial, game capture and VFX for Infinite content’s update trailers.

    SEE THE WORK

  • I joined COLOR in 2017 as the first full-time video hire.

Over 6 years I set the standard for editorial style, built the post-production pipeline and personally scaled/managed a team of over 30+ staff across 4 departments: Editorial, Resourcing, VFX and Gaming. These departments set the standard in efficiency and execution for the company.

I lead, supervised and personally executed post productions of all sizes, on very aggressive timelines across remote and hybrid systems. As the company grew I stepped in to manage our resourcing department and helped source and hire hundreds of freelancers.

I take pride in developing hardworking and efficient teams who can deliver top quality material at a healthy pace.

    SEE THE WORK

  • I joined 343 in 2013 and immediately went to work. I instantly became the go-to for game capture and trailers. Most notably I created and directed the wildly successful Halo Bumper” series, and the Halo 5 Launch Trailer.

    SEE THE WORK

  • During my final year of college I was surprised with an e-mail from Turn 10 Studios who had discovered my first forza “machinima” video.

I dropped everything and moved to Redmond to join the team. Over 7 years I managed the community, developed in-game camera tools, shipped cinematics, directed behind the scenes shoots and delivered 91 videos including the award winning Forza 4 E3 trailer.

I also lead a team of cinematic artists who shipped Forza 4’s gameplay/replay cameras and the ambitious “Autovista” feature.

It was an invaluable learning experience I’ll never forget.

The secret recipe.

  • Nothing is worse than a great idea you fail to execute. My process is focused on delivering the best creative with the individuals, materials and time available.

I do this by meticulously planning, setting clear goals, tracking timelines, communicating next steps and adapting to handle those unexpected situations.

  • I’m not afraid to roll up my sleeves and jump in. I enjoy tinkering with game builds, animating in after effects, editing, sound design and cinematography. Depending on my position and the company needs I’m able to add value across the board.

The people I lead and manage respect my willingness to help out and do what it takes to win.

  • I started using Premiere in the 90’s and learned early how to work around its technical shortcomings.

Since then I have grown in my technical understanding of large post-production pipelines, game engines, IT solutions and project management software.

I understand the tools required to make world class material and can develop them with engineers if they don’t exist.

  • Nuff said.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY.

“Landin is, in a word, visionary. He's got boundless energy, enthusiasm, confidence, dedication, and loads of talent. He plans, directs, and executes the highest quality in-game cinematics, live-action videos, interviews, and other marketing media.…he's also a genuine pleasure to work with.”

“Paired with outstanding skill in his craft, Landin is an exceptional leader who is able to coordinate a team in all the right ways to achieve a goal…I’ve learned a lot from working alongside Landin and look forward to our next project together.”

Nico Clairmont - Cinematic Designer - (via LinkedIn)

“When creativity, execution, and visual experiences are needed, Landin is your guy. On Forza, he regularly made amazing and inspiring images...He did these often on tight timelines, with less than perfect tools on a in-development game (meaning: rife with bugs). He also consistently brought a positive attitude that made everyone around him better.”

Korey Krauskopf - Technical Program Manager at Meta - (via LinkedIn)

“He is a problem solver of the highest rank and creates solutions to problems...Landin's cinematography is top-tier, yet somehow he makes it look easy. His secret to success is his ability to direct a team of artists to a unified goal, while making it a fun experience, and letting everyone own their contribution. I would highly recommend Landin to any discipline.”
